About the ClubCorp Classic

Heading into its inaugural year, the ClubCorp Classic will soon become a favorite for competitive and casual golf fans alike. An officially sanctioned PGA TOUR Champions and Charles Schwab Cup event, the 2022 ClubCorp Classic will also feature a star-studded field of 50 celebrity golfers competing alongside the pros throughout a fun and exciting week at Las Colinas Country Club in Irving, Texas. This event has an additional unique component that provides a limited number of Members in the portfolio of ClubCorp clubs to compete in a regional and national competition for the chance to be one of 10 amateur players who earn a spot to play in the ClubCorp Classic.

The tournament features a professional prize purse of $2 million, among the largest professional purses outside the major championships, as well as a $500,000 celebrity prize purse. Televised on Golf Channel, the competition will highlight an incredible week of golf and entertainment for fans, golfers, and viewers.

Event Format

  • The PGA TOUR Champions competition is a 54-hole standard event with traditional scoring rules.
  • The celebrity tournament will use a 54-hole modified Stableford Scoring System, which allows celebrity players of all abilities to have fun and enjoy a great week.
  • In a fun and entertaining twist, the celebrities will play alongside PGA TOUR Champions players throughout the week.
  • A group of amateur golfers, who gain entry through a ClubCorp qualifier, will also play alongside the stars and professionals during official tournament rounds.

It recently underwent a multi-million-dollar renovation and now features Trinity Zoysia fairways, Tif Tuf Bermuda rough and G12 Bermuda Greens.

A brand-new practice facility that covers more than 10 acres was designed by Golf Hall-of-Famer, Lanny Wadkins and features the same grass found on our beautiful course as well as a new short game area. Standing atop the No. 1 tee box, it seems as if the entire world is spread out before you, as a carpet of treetops and rooflines roll all the way down to the Dallas skyline. The Las Colinas golf course was classically designed in 1963 by Joe Finger and provides plenty of challenges for all golfers, whether pro or novice.
